Beautiful Couple + 2 Beautiful Girls = A Beautiful Family

Christy is one of the most caring women we know.  She always looks out for others and goes out of her way to help.  Christy and her two daughters combined their Real Beauty shoot, but things really heated up when Christy’s husband showed up!   I always knew Christy and her husband, Gene, had a strong marriage, but I was struck by how in love with one another they both are after many years of marriage.  Their daughters see that their parents love each other.  Christy and Gene have raised twin daughters almost to adulthood, while still keeping the ‘magic’ alive in their marriage.  How do they do it?  I don’t know, but I plan to talk to this Beautiful Girl more to find out!

Here’s what Christy had to say about her beautiful girls:  "About 17 years ago, a family was created through the blessing of adoption, with hearts full of hope and God's great love. Through the years, it's been a wonder seeing the young women they are becoming. Beauty is seen through the expressions of their hearts - kindness, generosity and forgiveness along with their individual talents in creative and athletic outlets. Who would know these fraternal twins, born in Yekaterinburg, Russia, would blossom so? God would, of course! To Him be the glory."

Camera-Shy Beauty

Aubrianah and Faith had a huge photography shoot today.  Of course they both had cameras.  There was also a reporter at the shoot, she's doing a story on the girls and their project, and she had a photographer with her.  Besides those three cameras, the models today included a local professional photographer who also brought her camera!  There were cameras everywhere, and they were all snapping away.  I can't even imagine how many pictures were taken today in the span of the two hours we were there.  Hundreds, a thousand?  It was a camera-shy girl's nightmare!
I'm camera-shy. I spent years pretending I was a secret vampire or in the witness protection program.  In my defense, I am not photogenic. But one year for my New Year's resolution I decided to get over it.  I thought about how, when I'm gone, my kids will look back at old photographs and not see their mom.  They won't care how I looked in my pictures, because I am their mother and they love me.  Being a good mother makes me beautiful, at least to my children.  They will want to remember the things we did together, and they will want to show their children and grandchildren pictures while they tell stories about me.  It was selfish of me to keep them from that. Oh I still get uncomfortable in front of the camera, but I no longer try to hide or run away.
The pro photographer the girls photographed today, Sara, said something to them that is so true.  She said that everyone is photogenic, they just haven't found the right angle.  That fits with Real Beauty so well!  All us girls are beautiful, we just have to find the right beauty 'angle'.  We are always looking at our flaws. Our eyes are too close together or we have too many gray hairs or we need to lose twenty pounds or we have a horn growing out of our forehead (well, maybe you'd better get that one checked out).  We are looking at ourselves from the wrong angle.  Find the right ANGLE, Beautiful Girl!  What makes you beautiful?    You are beautiful.  Find your angle, then give us a call or shoot us an email to tell us what your beauty angle is, and one of our photographers will help you show it!  Don't be a camera-shy beauty 'cause cameras gotta snap...so get in front of one!

Beautiful Chef!

Laura gets a lot of well-deserved accolades for her cooking.  She should, her food is amazing.  When I have to cook for a lot of people, I don’t worry about quality as much as quantity.  Laura cooks huge amounts of food for her church family every Wednesday, and it is all fabulous.  I’m talking home-made salsa on Mexican night, real shredded carrots in the carrot cake, and on pulled pork bar-b-q night she digs a big hole,  puts the pig on a spit herself, and roasts it underground all day…..ok, ok, I’m just kidding about that last one.  But I’m not kidding about Laura’s beautiful cooking abilities.  She has a husband, four sons, and a whole church family who think she’s a beautiful cook.
But that’s not the most beautiful thing about Laura.  See, after she does all that cooking all day, she gets behind the table and she serves the meal.  There is no way we could appreciate her enough for the food she provides, and yet not only does she provide it, she serves it.  And when we complain that we don’t like sweet potatoes or that pork grosses us out, she smiles her beautiful smile and she serves us something else.  Wednesday night dinner is not the only way Laura serves, and she is beautiful in many other ways, but serving dinner while smiling at us is one way she shows us that she loves us.  And we love her, too, our Beautiful Chef!

Beautiful Girls' Dads (and Grand-dads!)

I guess if there's ever a good day to talk about beautiful guys, Father's Day is the day to do it.  A girl's real beauty can be instilled early by a beautiful dad, and having one makes a girl feel protected, encouraged, and loved. Dads, if you want a good chance of getting an awesome son-in-law, be an example to your daughter of what a beautiful man looks like so that she'll know him when she meets him. Girls, a beautiful dad is a blessing, so celebrate him!  (And don't forget your beautiful Grand-dad!)
